Importing Data

Outside data reaches the app three ways: a live Bluetooth connection to a meter or chronograph, a file exported by a device, or a loadout exported by another ballistic app.

Connect Devices (drawer → My Setup) is the hub for the first two. It is grouped by kind (Chronographs, Watches, Atmospherics, Range) and a Connected now panel at the top lists whatever is live, with the widgets each connection feeds and a shortcut to add a missing one to your layout.

Live Bluetooth devices

A connected device writes straight into the app: no file, no retyping.

Chronographs

• FX True Ballistic (Bluetooth) and Connect FX Pocket V2 or D1 (Bluetooth) stream shots as you fire them. Pick the device from the scan list; the screen then shows its battery, signal and firmware while it listens.
• On connecting it offers to log to a session, existing or new. Shots keep logging while you use the rest of the app, and the banner shows the running count.
• Two settings on the Connect Devices screen shape that:
  • Confirm each shot in the log sheet: open the shot sheet per shot instead of logging it directly.
  • Warn when velocity differs from the profile: after a string, compare its average against the muzzle velocity the solver is using and offer to update the profile. The threshold is a percentage you set.
• Shots captured but not yet filed are not lost: the screen offers them again next time, so you can place them or discard them deliberately.

Wind and atmospherics

• Kestrel 5700 (Bluetooth): streams live conditions into the calculator’s atmospherics.
• Calypso ULTRASONIC anemometer (Bluetooth): streams live wind.
• WeatherFlow WEATHERmeter (Bluetooth): streams both wind and atmospherics.

Wind meters drive the Wind Meter and Wind Chart widgets, and through them every wind-dependent solve. An atmospherics feed updates the panel at the foot of Results.

Chronograph files

Where a chronograph has no live connection, import its export file instead: it can come from anywhere (AirDrop, email, cloud drive).

• Open Connect Devices (drawer → My Setup) → Chronographs → Import from file, and pick the export file.
• Supported formats:
  • FX (FX True Ballistic chronographs): CSV export.
  • MagnetoSpeed v3: CSV export.
• The app parses the file and shows a preview of the shot strings; choose where the shots go: a load test (see Loads) or a session target (see Sessions & Logging).
• Imports are tracked, so re-importing the same file warns you first. Every import is listed under Chrono Imports (drawer → Saved Sessions & Targets) and can be deleted again from there.
• Tap an import in that list to see where its shots went, and jump to the load test or session target holding them. An import can appear in more than one place if you committed it in batches.

Athlon Rangecraft over Bluetooth

A Rangecraft keeps its own history, so there is no file to export: connect to it and read the sessions straight off the device.

• Open Connect Devices (drawer → My Setup) → Chronographs → Athlon Rangecraft (Bluetooth), wake the chronograph, and pick it from the list.
• Every session it holds is listed with its date and the projectile weight recorded against it. Open one to see the shots, then choose where they go, the same load test or session target any other import offers.
• Sessions you have already imported are tagged, and importing one again brings in only the shots fired since last time, so nothing is duplicated. Deleting the import makes the whole session importable again.
• The Rangecraft will not answer over Bluetooth while it is logging, so there is no live view: stop the session on the chronograph, then use Refresh to pick up the shots you have just fired.
• After the first import, the destination you chose is offered as a single button (“Add 3 shots to …”), so a session imported in batches does not ask you where it goes every time. The full chooser stays below it if you want somewhere else.

From other ballistic apps

Move your rifles across without retyping them:

• Open Import data from other apps (from the Backup & Restore panel, or the Import Data screen).
• Supported sources:
  • Strelok (.srl files): the app detects the source, previews the rifles inside, and imports the ones you select as profiles. Their cartridges are added to My Projectiles, de-duplicated against what you already have.
• Imported profiles are ordinary profiles afterwards; review the key fields (muzzle velocity, zero, sight height) before trusting the solution.

Backups

Restoring a full app backup is separate from data import; see Backup, Sync & Account.
