Sets the wind speed and direction used by every wind-dependent solve.
Usage
- Add from the palette. Drag the dial to set wind direction relative to the target, and use the speed steppers to set how hard it is blowing.
- Tap the unit tag to cycle the wind-speed unit (m/s, km/h, mph, knots).
- Changes are written to the app state and re-solve the trajectory immediately.
Direction
- The dial is anchored to the active target: 12 o’clock is that target’s line
of sight. The top marker names it —
▲ PLATE3-215is the target and its azimuth — and falls back to ▲ TARGET when nothing is selected. - A north marker is drawn at north’s position on the dial, unless the target itself is due north.
- How the angle reads follows the Wind Direction setting (see
Settings & Units):
- Clock (default) and Degrees are relative to the target’s line of
sight — the same dial angle, read as
9 o'clockor270°. - Bearing is an absolute compass bearing (0 = from north), and the dial then edits that bearing directly.

One wind value or two
How many speed steppers appear follows the Wind input setting (in the profile’s Units section, and on the Wind Drift widget’s gear):
- High / Low (default) — LOW and HIGH steppers set a wind-speed band, and corrections read as a range between them.
- Single — one WIND stepper. Every wind-dependent readout shows a single correction rather than a band.
Switching back to High / Low restores the low estimate you had before.
Connected wind meter
Wind Input stays a manual entry surface. To drive the wind from a connected meter (Calypso ultrasonic or WeatherFlow WEATHERmeter) — capturing a high/low bracket or live-feeding it — add the Wind Meter widget. Its Capture and Live modes write into the same wind state, so this dial keeps displaying whatever the meter produces. In Single wind input, a captured bracket reads as its high (gust) value.
Output
- A wind dial plus its speed row(s). Feeds Wind Drift, the Wind Chart, and the wind envelope on the Trajectory Chart.
