Results & Layouts

Results is your firing solution, a grid of widgets showing drop, wind drift, DOPE and more for the active profile, location and target. It is fully customisable: what’s on screen, how big, and in what order is up to you.

Reading the screen

• The two buttons at the top show the active profile and active location: tap either to switch or edit; the whole solution recalculates.
• Each widget is one readout: a DOPE card, a drop figure, a chart. See the Widget Reference for every widget.
• Press and hold a widget to open it full screen for a closer look. A plain tap goes to the widget’s own controls, so the hold is what distinguishes “show me this bigger” from “change this”.
• Widgets marked Configurable have a cog that opens a settings sheet. Options apply live as you change them; close with the X or by tapping outside.
• Swipe left/right to move between pages when a layout has more than one.

Many widgets carry a pill in their top-right corner, and the two kinds look similar but behave differently:

• A pill with a › chevron is a control; tap it to toggle the widget’s view or cycle its units.
• A dimmed pill is just a label showing the current setting. It has no tap action.

Editing the layout

Tap the edit (pencil) button to enter layout edit mode:

• Rearrange widgets by dragging; resize via each widget’s size variants (from 4×4 tiles up to 16-wide banners; each widget offers the sizes that suit it).
• Add Widget opens the palette, organised into the same categories as the Widget Reference: Basic, Inputs, Outputs, Analysis and Training. Tap to add at the smallest size.
• Remove widgets you don’t need, and add pages for more space.
• Save when you’re done; Reset restores the discipline default (Default Simple, with its DOPE card already stepping through the ranges that suit the profile’s discipline: 100–1200 in 50s for centrefire, 50–250 in 25s for rimfire, 10–100 in 10s for airgun, read in your own distance unit).
• Orientation is locked while editing.

Narrow and wide screens

Results keeps two layouts: a narrow one for phones in portrait, and a wide one for tablets, landscape and the web app. They can be tailored separately, because a wide screen fits far more across a row.

You do not have to build both. Until you edit the wide layout, it simply mirrors your narrow one: the same widgets, with the same settings, repacked to fit the extra width. Rotating your phone shows your screen, rearranged, not a stock one. Keep tuning the narrow layout and the wide one follows along.

Mirroring stops when you rearrange the wide layout and Save it. It then becomes a screen in its own right, and from then on the two are independent, so a change to one no longer shows up in the other. (It works the same way round if you set up a tablet first.)

Changing a widget’s settings does not break the mirror. Adjust a DOPE card’s columns while mirroring and the change goes to the layout being mirrored, so both screens keep it.

Two details worth knowing:

• A very wide widget has to shrink to fit a narrow screen, so it may come back a size smaller than you left it.
• Reset in edit mode always restores the discipline default, not the layout from the other screen size.
• Default Simple is never mirrored, because it is drawn for each screen size already. Choose it on a phone and a tablet still gets the wide arrangement rather than the narrow one stretched.

Saved layouts

• Layouts can be saved and named, then switched from the layout picker: e.g. a “load development” layout and a “match day” layout for the same rifle.
• Default Simple always sits at the top of the picker. It is the built-in starting screen: drop and wind drift as small tiles over a full-width DOPE card. You cannot overwrite it, so it is always there to go back to.
• Because it cannot be overwritten, any change you make to Default Simple gives you a copy of it. Rearranging and Save asks for a name; changing a widget’s setting on it (a DOPE card’s ranges, say) makes the copy quietly, kept with the profile. Either way the profile is now on a screen of its own, so the picker no longer shows Default Simple as the one selected, and the copy keeps the ranges it had rather than following a later change of discipline. Pick Default Simple again to go back.
• Layouts (drawer → My Setup) manages your saved layouts.
• Widgets (drawer → Calculate & Results) is a standalone catalogue of every widget, outside the grid.

Quick adjustments

• The cog at screen level opens Quick Settings: adjust range, muzzle velocity, slope, powder temperature and wind on the spot and watch every widget update. See Quick Settings.
