Projectiles

The projectile attached to your profile supplies the ballistic coefficient, drag model, mass and calibre the solver needs. Pick one from the library, create your own, or supply a custom drag curve.

Projectiles

The projectile attached to your profile supplies the ballistic coefficient, drag model, mass and calibre the solver needs.

The built-in library

  • Open Select Projectile from the profile’s projectile tile.
  • Browse or search the library; filter by category or manufacturer. It covers everything from airgun pellets to fullbore bullets.
  • Airgun pellets may carry segmented (velocity-banded) BCs: several BC values, each valid over a velocity band, which the solver uses automatically.

On the web

In a browser the library is not built into the app and is not handed over in bulk on any plan: it stays on our server. The picker there lists your own entries plus the bullets your saved profiles and loads already use, and there is no generic bullet to offer as a starting point the way there is for scopes and reticles.

Two things follow. Adding your own by hand works exactly the same way in a browser. And a library bullet picked once in the phone app comes across with the profile that uses it, because the profile stores the bullet itself rather than a link to it. See The Web App.

Fair use of the libraries

The projectile, scope and reticle libraries are our own compiled reference data, licensed for your own shooting inside the app. That does not license a copy to pass on. Please don’t bulk-download, scrape, republish or redistribute them, or use them to populate another product.

My Projectiles

When a bullet or pellet isn’t in the library, create your own:

  • My Projectiles (drawer → My Setup) lists your custom entries.
  • The essentials are ballistic coefficient, drag model (G1, G7, …), mass and calibre: get these right and the trajectory follows.
  • Custom projectiles appear in the picker alongside the library and can be attached to any profile.
  • The BC Calibrator can save a tuned copy of your projectile here (“Save as Variant”) once you have logged real drop data.

Custom drag curves

For projectiles that don’t fit a standard drag model, define your own Cd-vs-Mach curve:

  • Custom Drag Curves (drawer → My Setup) lists your curves; the editor takes the curve points directly.
  • A custom curve can be selected as the drag model on a projectile, replacing the standard G-models.
  • The Drag Curve widget plots whichever model the active profile uses.
