This policy explains how dopeology handles your information, both on this website and in the dopeology app. dopeology is operated by DaftSolutions Ltd. The app works fully on your device with no account; creating an optional account enables automatic cloud backup of your data so you can restore it or use it across your devices.

What we collect

Your email address, if and only if you submit it through the launch notification form, so we can notify you when dopeology launches.
Basic server logs that our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records automatically (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we do not run third-party analytics that profile you.

How we use it

To send you a notification when the app becomes available.
To occasionally share important launch-related updates, if relevant.
To protect the site against abuse and diagnose technical problems.

We rely on your consent (given when you submit the form) to email you, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure website for server logs.

The app: accounts

The dopeology app is fully usable on your device with no account. If you choose to create an account, you can sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, with a passkey, or with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. We never ask for or store a password. We store only what is needed to operate your account: for email sign-in, your email address; for a passkey, the public credential your device registers; for Apple or Google, the account identifier those providers return. Authentication is handled by our backend provider, Supabase.

The app: cloud backup & sync

While you are signed in, the app automatically backs up your app data so you can restore it or use it on another device. This includes your rifle profiles, loads and projectiles, shooting sessions and logs, shot groups and scores, drag curves, saved layouts, app settings, and any saved shooting locations (which can include GPS coordinates). This data is kept in your own private, access-controlled area of our backend (Supabase) and is never shared with other users.

Your photos stay on your device. Target photos, scorecards, scope and profile images, and any other pictures are not uploaded to our servers as part of backup. They remain only on your device.

The app: requests and reports

The app lets you send us a request or a report: to ask for a projectile or a scope to be added to our catalogues, to report a problem, or to suggest a feature. You do not need an account to do this, and nothing is sent unless you fill in a form and submit it.

What you write. The contents of the form, for example the details of the projectile you would like added, or your description of a problem.
Your email address, only if you choose to give one. The field is optional and clearly marked as such. We use it solely to reply to you about that submission. Leave it blank and your submission is anonymous.
Basic technical details: the app version, your platform and operating system version, and a short summary of the rifle profile in use. These are attached to problem reports only, so we can reproduce what you saw. They do not include your location or your photos.
A random identifier for your installation. Because you may have no account, the app generates a random value and stores it on your device so that a submission can later be traced back to your copy of the app, which is what makes the “delete my submissions” button below possible. It is not an advertising identifier, it is not shared with any other app, it is not linked to you as a person, and we do not use it to build a profile or to track you.
An anti-abuse check, in the browser version only. When you send a request or report from dopeology in a web browser, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm a person filled the form in rather than a script. To do that, Cloudflare receives your IP address, your browser's user-agent and TLS fingerprint, and an identifier for our site. Cloudflare states that these signals are used solely to detect and block bots and not to identify, profile or target individuals; the details are in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. There is normally nothing for you to click, and we do not send Cloudflare anything you typed into the form. The iOS and Android apps do not use it.

Submissions are stored in our backend (Supabase) and are used only to improve dopeology. If you ask for a projectile or scope to be added, the technical details you send may end up in the app's public catalogue, but your email address and identifier never do.

The app: roadmap votes

The app shows a roadmap of what we are working on, what is planned and what has shipped. Anyone can read it, and reading it records nothing about you. If you are signed in to an account, you can also vote for the items that matter to you.

What we store when you vote. Which items your account has voted for, and when. Votes need an account so that each person counts once. They are not linked to any request or report you have sent us, and nobody else can see who voted for what: other people only ever see the total number of votes on each item.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us operate, and only so they can perform those services for us. When you submit the launch notification form, your email address is processed by Mailjet, the email service that hosts the signup form and manages our launch-notification list. If you use an app account, your account and backup data are processed and stored by Supabase, our backend and hosting provider. Supabase also stores any requests or reports you send us from the app, whether or not you have an account, and any roadmap votes you cast. Cloudflare hosts this website and the browser version of the app, which means it handles the server logs described above and runs the anti-abuse check on the submission form; what that check collects and why is set out in Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Any of these providers may store data on servers outside the UK and EU. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention

We keep your launch-notification email address until the app launches and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us. Your app account and its backup data are kept for as long as your account exists, and are removed when you delete your account (see below).

If you give us an email address with a request or report, we remove it from that submission after 12 months. The submission itself may be kept for longer. Once the email address is gone it no longer identifies you, and an old bug report is still useful to us.

Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app (Account → Delete Account). This removes your account, all of the backup data described above and any roadmap votes you have cast from our servers. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also email us to request deletion.

The data held on your own device is not deleted with it. dopeology works fully without an account, so deleting the account signs the app out and leaves your profiles, sessions and other records on the device for you to carry on using. To remove those as well, delete the app or clear its data in your device settings.

Requests and reports can be deleted separately, with no account needed: use Delete my submissions in the app's settings and everything sent from that installation is removed. If you have since reinstalled the app or cleared its data, the device can no longer identify your earlier submissions; email us and we will remove them for you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

As dopeology develops we will update this policy and revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be made clear before they take effect.
